Menemerus bivittatus (Dufour, 1831)
Description
Male
Prosoma brow or dark brown, lighter hairs forming a median longitudinal strip and both sides appear as dark bands. Sternum brown. Chelicerae dark brown. Legs yellowish-brown, darkly annulated. Opisthosoma covered with yellow or brown hairs, usually with a dark median band.
Body length male: 5.0-7.0 mmFemale
Pro- and opisthosoma with a dark stripe, lighter between. Opisthosoma dorsally with irregular pattern, ventrally yellowish. Legs yellow, darkly annulated.
Body length female: 6.0-9.0 mmAdditional information
Often close to buildings.
This species of tropical African origin is not native to Europe (alien species). It had been introduced to Europe at least once and did establish.
