Hogna radiata (Latreille, 1817)
Beschreibung
Männchen
Prosoma von vorne gelb bis gelbbraun, ohne dunklere Bereiche. Augen schwarz gerandet. Prosoma braun mit dunklen Linien, die vom gelblich bis orangen breiten Mittelstreifen ausgehen. Breite gelbliche bis orange Seitenstreifen mit gebuchtetem Rand; manchmal bis zum Prosomarand. Opisthosoma dorsal gelblich braun mit dunkelbraunem Herzfleck, gelblich gerandet und mit seitlichen dunklen Flecken ungefähr in der Mitte. Hellere Bereiche des Opisthosoma hellbraun. Opisthosoma ventral weisslich bis gelb ohne dunklere Flecken. Beine hellgelb, dorsal ohne dunkle Streifen. Ventral heller, dunklere Streifen proximal und distal auf Tibia IV. Labium und Endite gelb ohne dunkle Streifen. Sternum und Coxen gelb (Brady 2012).

Prosoma von vorne gelbbraun, dunkler an der Seite. Cheliceren dunkel rotbraun bis schwarz, Augen schwarz umrandet. Prosoma dorsal braun, median mit gelblichem bis orangem Streifen, von den HSA bis zum Hinterrand. Streifen meist so breit wie die HMA-Reihe, vorne am breitesten, mit dunklen Linien, radiierend zum Randstreifen. Randstreifen weisslich bis gelb mit gebuchtetem Rand. Opisthosoma dorsal bräunlich gelb bis hellbraun. Herzfleck dunkelbraun, hellgelb bis gelb umrandet, mit einem Paar dunkler Flecken im hinteren Bereich. Keine Winkelflecken. Opisthosoma ventral dunkelbraun bis schwarz von der Epigastralfurche bis zu den Spinnwarzen; seitlich gelblich bis gelbbraun. Beine gelbbraun, dorsal ohne dunkle Streifen. Tibia IV ventral mit deutlichem proximalen und distalen dunklen Streifen. Tibia III an gleicher Stelle mit undeutlichem Streifen. Labium und Endite dunkelbraun bis schwarz, distal gelblich. Sternum und Coxen dunkelbraun bis schwarz (Brady 2012).

Grosse Wolfspinne, die am Südrand der Alpen die Nordgrenze ihres Verbreitungsgebietes erreicht. In warmen, trockenen Lebensräumen, im Gras und in waldsteppenartigen Habitaten. Tagaktiv. Paarung im Herbst, das Weibchen gräbt dann eine kurze Wohnröhre, in dem sie den Kokon bewacht. Die Jungtiere schlüpfen im Dezember, bleiben beim Weibchen und verlassen es erst im April und May.
Hogna radiata ist stark revisionsbedürftig. Die Identifizierung dieser Art erfolgte mit Individuen von verschiedenen Herkünften und auf der Basis der sehr sorgfältigen und detaillierten Beschreibung von Fuhn & Niculescu-Burlacu (1971). Eine weiterführende Diagnose von H. radiata im gesamten Verbreitungsgebiet ist schwierig, solange die Beziehungen der vielen Populationen, die unter diesem Namen beschrieben sind, nicht geklärt sind. Viele dieser Populationen sind deutlich verschieden und es ist derzeit unklar, ob dies die Variation der Art darstellt oder ob es sich um eigenständige Arten handelt (Brady 2012).
