Diastanillus pecuarius  (Simon, 1884)

Description

Prosoma brownish. Sternum brownish, with grey reticulate pattern and margin. Chelicerae brownish. Legs yellowish. Opisthosoma whitish, sometimes suffused with grey.

Body length male: 1.5 mm
Body length female: 1.5-1.8 mm
Additional information

myrmecophilic in formicaries of Formica fusca and related species. Pyrenees, 1800-2600 m, further locations in Austria in the range of timberline and small bush heathland (2000-2300 m)

Quite widespread in nests of Formica sp. ants at about 700-800 m.a.s.l. in central parts of South Norway, but goes down to sea level in coastal localities in Nordland county, Northern Norway.
