Enoplognatha ovata (Clerck, 1757)
Description
Male
Conductor with simply rectangularly bent tip. Radix of male palpal smaller than median apophysis (in ventral view). Prosoma light yellow, with narrow, black margin and dark median stripe. Sternum light yellow, with black margin and median stripe. Chelicerae whitish, male: with robust tooth. Legs bright, almost white. Tibia I always with black terminal ring. Opisthosoma bright, whitish, dorsally often with grey or shiny red pattern and black spots, ventrally with broad, black median stripe.

Epigyne with longish groove, without distinct sclerotisation on posterior margin.

Very frequent in dense plant growth, in sunny places.
After the split of E. ovata into three species by Hippa & Oksala (1982) it is difficult to attribute the Wiehle (1937) drawings to E. ovata or E. latimana. Therefore, these figures are not given here.
