Xysticus kochi Thorell, 1872
Description
Male palp with apophyses of bulbus slightly bent toward each other, pliers-like. Median tegular apophysis with 2 branches, one robust and broad, the other small, pointed and tooth-shaped. Tibial apophysis bipartite, one apophysis ventral, broad with apically slanting distal edge, the second one tapering toward the tip. Embolus strongly broadened in last third. Epigyne with width of bar between the two epigynal grooves approximately 1/2 of epigynal groove width. Vulva characterised by broad, wrinkled ground of epigynal grooves with vague course of ducts. Prosoma with black stripes, median triangle large, posteriorly with distinct black spot, arc-like margined by bright stripes on both sides. Sternum light brown, margin brown-yellow, longish oval, scarcely spined. Chelicerae frontally strongly spined. Legs dorsally dark brown with bright longitudinal lines and strong spines. Opisthosoma distinctly patterned with light brown-ochre foliaceous patterns on dark background, colour very variable (males overall darker).
