Xysticus acerbus Thorell, 1872
Description
Male
Ventral tibial apophysis small, tip of lateral apophysis directing ventrally. Embolus broad, membranous tapering to a sclerotised spur. Prosoma hazelnut brown, dorsally with vague V-pattern. Eye region whitish. Sternum light brown to dark yellow-brown, longish oval. Chelicerae dark brown, with fine spines. Legs brown to dark brown with dark dorsal stripes. Opisthosoma female: dorsally ochre with slender, white transverse stripes and median longitudinal band (very variable). Male: grey to sand grey, ventrally sand brown or brown to dark brown.

Epigyne with oval groove, all sides distinctly bordered. Vulva consists of 2 independent, longish oval, sac-like, compact structures.
