Xysticus ulmi  (Hahn, 1831)

Description

Male palp with short, bent tegular apophyses directed pliers-like toward each other. Tibial apophysis bipartite, ventral apophysis transverse and strongly bulged on outer edge. Retrolateral tapering off in ventral view, compact in lateral view. Embolus with stamp-like flattened tip. Epigyne oval with 2 protruding bulges. Vulva consists of 2 S-shaped bulges. Prosoma light brown to ochre, sometimes pale yellow, dorsally with triangle, flanked by light beige stripes, lateral dark brown-black bands. Male: similar, but darker patterned overall. Sternum round, yellow-brown or beige. Chelicerae frontally with bright or white transverse band and spines. Legs bright, yellow-brown to brown. Dorsally with irregular white longitudinal stripes, in addition partly distinctly dark patterned. Femur and patella I and II darker. Opisthosoma light brown to ochre, sometimes pale yellow, with folium consisting of light beige stripes, posteriorly with 3 bright transverse lines.

in damp and dry areas, mainly in shore vegetation and wetland, on low vegetation, from lowland up to alpine region
