Trochosa spinipalpis  (F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1895)

Description

Palp male: tibia ventrally with 6-15 robust spines. Prosoma with bright, yellowish median band and dark lateral bands. Two dark, longish oval stripes in anterior half of bright median band. Opisthosoma dark brown-reddish with dark, indistinct cardiac mark.

Body length male: 6-8 mm
Body length female: 9-12 mm
Additional information

Active during the night, in damp meadows.

This species can bite humans when accidently squeezing them. The bite is painful as a wasp sting. Also a moderate local epidermal swelling has been reported.
