Prosoma dark brown, with blackish radial stripes, submarginal stripes yellowish, undulating, median band light yellow with blackish median line. Chelicerae dark red-brown, frontal part covered with yellowish hairs. Sternum and coxae light yellow. Legs pale yellow, femora to tibiae with brown annulations. Opisthosoma: dorsum grey-brown, anterior part with reddish yellow cardiac mark and 2 small blackish lateral spots, followed by 4-5 pairs of black spots.
Body length male: 10.5 mmAccording to C. L. Koch (1847): Locus typicus "Deutschland, vielleicht nur Norddeutschland" [Germany, probably northern Germany only]. Dahl (1908) and Roewer (1960b) question this statement. Roewer (1960b) lists a female from Dalmatia.
