Zygiella atrica  (C. L. Koch, 1845)

Description

Tibia of male male palp more than four times as long as wide. Epigyne with clearly visible groove. Prosoma yellowish-brown, with slender dark margin and vague dark median line. Sternum blackish, with large yellow median spot. Chelicerae brown. Legs yellow-brown, darkly annulated. Opisthosoma black, reddish, yellow and silvery patterned, ventrally with dark median stripe.

Body length male: 4.5-7.0 mm
Body length female: 8.0-9.5 mm

mainly on free standing trees, bushes and fences

Frequency: frequent on the sea coast, rare in the mountains
