Validität der Unterart zweifelhaft per Pantini & Isaia (2019).
Etwas blasser gefärbte Tiere als Alopecosa alpicola wurden von Simon (1876a: 264) aus den französischen Alpen als Lokalform mit Artstatus beschrieben und später zur Unterart herabgestuft (Simon 1937: 1106, 1135). Wahrscheinlich handelt es sich nur um eine Farbvariante.
