Araneus marmoreus Clerck, 1757
Description
Male palp with distally bluntly rounded median apophysis. Epigynal scapus parallel-sided. Prosoma light yellow-brown. Sternum dark brown to black. Chelicerae brown. Legs red-brown, sometimes annulated with black. Opisthosoma yellowish white, yellow to reddish brown with characteristic pattern. The opisthosoma is light yellow with fine black lines and a dark brown-black folium in the colour-type described as betulae. The colour-type pyramidatus has a bright yellow opisthosoma with a pyramide-like dark folium.
Body length male: 5.0-9.5 mmBody length female: 5.0-20.6 mm

Mostly in damp forest edges on bushes and twigs
