Platnickina tincta (Walckenaer, 1802)
Description
Male
Palp small. Prosoma 1.2-1.5 mm long. Characters as in female, but dorsal side of opisthosoma and sternum sometimes entirely black. Epigastric area bulging.
Body length male: 2.5-4.0 mmFemale
Prosoma whitish-yellow, with fine, black margin and broad, black median stripe. Prosoma 1.3-1.5 mm long. Sternum yellowish, with black pattern (mostly spots on margin and in the middle). Chelicerae yellow, spotted with black, promargin without teeth. Legs yellowish, with irregular black rings and spots, tibia with one dorsal bristle, metatarsus III with a trichobothrium. Opisthosoma whitish yellow with fine grey or brown spots and variable pattern. Dark spot in anterior part often bipartite and with concave anterior margin.

Mainly in various forests: coniferous, deciduous or mixed, also in heathlands, dunes, seashores, gardens, dry meadows, fruit trees, river banks, marshes, on low vegetation, shrubs and lower branches of trees.
