Argyroneta aquatica (Clerck, 1757)
Beschreibung
Prosoma dunkelbraun. Sternum dunkelbraun. Cheliceren dunkelbraun. Beine dunkelbraun. Opisthosoma dunkel graubraun-schwarz. Beim lebenden Tier unter Wasser Opisthosoma und Sternum silbrig glänzend durch anhaftende Lufthülle. Ganzer Körper mit dichtstehenden, spezialisierten Haaren bedeckt, diese am Bein IV besonders lang und teilweise in Büscheln.
Körperlänge Männchen: 10-15 mmKörperlänge Weibchen: 8-9 mm
Zusätzliche Informationen
Große, den Agelenidae ähnliche Wasserspinne, die in sauberen, dicht bewachsenen, stehenden Gewässern lebt und das Wasser nur ausnahmsweise verlässt. Baut unter Wasser verschiedene, luftgefüllte Wohngespinste sowie ein unregelmäßiges Fangnetz, schwimmt sehr gut, bauchoben.
Es gibt einige ältere und nicht überprüfbare Berichte, denen zufolge diese Art Menschen beißen können soll. In Anbetracht der Größe dieser Art ist das im Prinzip möglich, es gibt jedoch keinen neueren glaubwürdigen und publizierten Bericht hierzu.
