Loxosceles rufescens (Dufour, 1820)
Beschreibung
Männchen
Pedipalpus des Männchens mit verdickter Tibia. Embolus gebogen, ungefähr so lang wie Bulbusbreite. Prosoma orangebraun. Prosoma 3 mm lang. Clypeus schmaler als bei Weibchen. Beine gelb bis orange. Opisthosoma grau bis gelblich braun

Vulva mit eng zusammenliegenden Rezeptakeln, enden in nach innen zeigenden Loben. Prosoma 3.2 mm lang. Prosoma rötlich-gelb, dunkler im vorderen Bereich, mit wenig Haaren. Clypeus breit, fast das 3-fache des Durchmessers der Mittelaugen. Beine einheitlich rötlich-gelb. Opisthosoma gräulich bis rötlich-gelb.

In trockenen Habitaten, unter Steinen, in Felsspalten. Oft in und um Häuser und anderen Gebäude.
Diese Art kann Menschen beißen, genauso wie alle anderen Loxosceles-Arten außerhalb von Europa. Im Unterschied zu allen anderen Spinnenbissen verursacht der Biss dieser Art keine Schmerzen, kann jedoch zu nekrotische Wunden führen. Die meisten Bisse verursachen jedoch lediglich lokalen Juckreiz und Rötung und heilen von selbst in kurzer Zeit ohne Komplikationen ab. Schwerere Fälle sind selten und können zu Nekrosen führen, die manchmal Monate zum Abheilen benötigen. Solche Fälle sind bei dieser europäischen Art jedoch äußerst selten.
Seit einigen Jahrzehnten zeigt diese Art Ausbreitungstendenzen innerhalb von Europa. Trotzdem sollte man sie nicht als nicht-einheimisch oder invasiv bezeichnen, da sie einheimisch für Europa ist.
