Anelosimus vittatus (C. L. Koch, 1836)
Description
Male
Male palp with broad, bent process near base of bulbus. Prosoma yellowish-orange, with narrow, dark margin and broad, brown median stripe. Opisthosoma bright yellowish, sometimes also white or reddish, with broad, brown median stripe.
Body length male: 3.0-4.0 mmFemale
Epigyne with spoon-like widened scapus.
Body length female: 3.0-4.1 mmAdditional information
On trees and bushes, mostly in sunny forest edges, rare in the mountains. On compost heaps, aggregative spider webs reached 3 x 4 m in size and contained 500 individuals of all stages (Jäger, 2002a).
