Anelosimus vittatus  (C. L. Koch, 1836)

Description

Male palp with broad, bent process near base of bulbus. Epigyne with spoon-like widened scapus. Prosoma yellowish-orange, with narrow, dark margin and broad, brown median stripe. Opisthosoma bright yellowish, sometimes also white or reddish, with broad, brown median stripe.

Body length male: 3-4 mm
Body length female: 3-4.1 mm
Additional information

On trees and bushes, mostly in sunny forest edges, frequent. On compost heaps, aggregative spider webs reached 3 x 4 m in size and contained 500 individuals of all stages.

Frequency: widely distributed, rare in the mountains
