Micrommata virescens (Clerck, 1757)
Description
Prosoma female: dark green, eyes margined by small white hairs. Male: dark green-olive, provided with small white hairs. Juvenile with yellow-brown prosoma with dark median and marginal stripes, anterior eye row recurved, posterior eye row slightly procurved. Posterior median eyes larger than remaining eyes. Legs very long, leg formula II-IV-I-III, legs II and IV approximately equal in length, female: dark green, male: dark green-olive, provided with white hairs. Juveniles brown with small red spots. Metatarsus and tarsus with scopula. Opisthosoma female: yellow-green with dark green tinge, sometimes yellow. Male: with striking red to red-brown median stripe, defined by yellow lateral stripes. Juveniles: brown with 2 whitish yellow longitudinal stripes and red spots.

Additional information
gradual change of colour to green in females or change of colour with final moult in males. In vegetation layer of different habitats, prefers sunny and warm conditions, active in the daytime, very quick hunter, lifespan approximately 18 months.
