Segestria senoculata (Linnaeus, 1758)
Description
Male
Bulbus with elongated tip. Pedipalpus mit einem langen, dünnen Embolus, gebogen an der Spitze. Prosoma 3-3.5 mm lang. Prosoma shiny dark brown. Sternum light brown. Legs light brown, with dark annulations. Metatarsus I laterally with 3 pairs of spines. Opisthosoma grey-yellow to light brown, pattern as continuous, laterally undulated band consisting of short, brown hairs.
Body length male: 6.5-7.5 mmFemale
Prosoma blackish, lighter behind, 3-3.5 mm long. Sternum brownish as coxa, darker in front. Metatarsus I with 3 pairs of ventrolateral spines, and a ventral median spine in the basal half. Opisthosoma light grey brownish spotted with black, dorsally with a median lobed black band, ventrally without band.

Mostly under bark, also in wall holes, under stones and in beams, frequent in woodland. Cocoon biconvex oval (up to 8 x 13 mm) with 60-180 eggs. Altitude up to 2020 m.
