Zygiella x-notata (Clerck, 1757)
Description
Tibia of male palpal only slightly longer than wide. Epigyne with groove, covered by thick chitinous bulges. Prosoma yellow-brown, margin and region between fovea and eye region darkened. Sternum almost black, with yellow median spot. Chelicerae dark brown to black. Legs dark brown, annulated and spotted with black. Opisthosoma black, yellow and grey patterned, middle of folium often shiny silver, ventrally with dark median stripe.

Frequency: very frequent in some places, becoming rarer in the east
